BrandFactualBot

BrandFactualBot reads public pages on brands' official websites to record facts about the brand.

What it reads

A small number of public pages per brand: the home page, legal pages (terms, privacy, imprint), contact, warranty and about pages, the dealer locator, robots.txt and the sitemap.

How it behaves

• It follows robots.txt, for both BrandFactualBot and *.
• It waits at least three seconds between requests to the same website.
• It identifies itself in its user agent: BrandFactualBot/0.1 (+https://brandfactual.com/bot).
• It does not log in, submit forms or try to get around bot protection.
• It records facts only, not page text, images or reviews.

Blocking it

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: BrandFactualBot
Disallow: /
